Schedule A Zoom Meeting From Your Google Calendar

If you work from home or take lessons from home, you have most likely used Zoom’s online meeting and video conference software to host or join online meetings with your co-workers or classmates.

If you are a Gmail / Google user, you may also use Google Calendar to keep track of all your meetings and other appointments. Since Zoom is constantly growing in popularity, it makes sense that it is also integrated into your other apps like your Outlook Calendar.

So instead of configuring a Zoom meeting from the Zoom desktop client or the Zoom site, it makes sense that you should be able to schedule Zoom meetings directly from your Google Calendar. If you are a Google Chrome user, now this is possible. You will need to install the Zoom Scheduler Chrome extension in your browser to use this feature and it can be downloaded from here.

To schedule a Zoom meeting from your Google Calendar, simply open your Google Calendar from your Google apps from any Google page like Home Page or Gmail etc. by clicking 6 dots next to your profile picture or your letter.

From there click on Google Calendar and you will be taken to your personal calendar. Next, you’ll want to click on the date you want to schedule the meeting and from there, I’d like to click on the More options button for some additional configuration options. Also note in the image below that there is an option to add a Google Meet video conference, because you can schedule a meeting or call via Google Meet as well. Google Meet is Google’s answer to Zoom and it’s also free to use.

Once you are in the additional options section, you can then do things like adjust the meeting time, add a description, add attachments, and enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite to a Zoom meeting.

When you click the Zoom In Meeting button, the Zoom Meeting Zoom link will appear below the button and the button will change to say Join Zoom Meeting.

Once you have entered all of your meeting information, you can click on the Save button and your invitations will be sent to the attendees.

Now when you return to your calendar, you can click on the meeting and it will show a summary of the meeting details with a button saying Join Zoom Meeting which you can click to start the meeting. If you go to your Zoom account, you will also see your meeting listed in your Meetings section although it may take a minute for it to appear.
